Took a sweet quick trip to London last month, to surprise a bestie on her special day. It was literally a whirlwind holiday, but thankfully I managed to capture some shots of a few of my favourite places.
My sweet Ryan picked me up at Vauxhall and our first stop was to head down to Brixton and Federation Coffee for some much needed coffee and munchies. I loved everything about this little spot, from the eclectic mishmash of furniture to the super hot locals. Brixton market is undergoing a few changes. What was once old beaten stalls are now getting a good wash, with young people opening up new business. I'm not the biggest fan of gentrification but it looks like the old and new work quite nicely together here.
As expected, Saturday night was a blur of a bachelorette party. But by Sunday morning I had forced everyone out of bed for an East End stroll. Sadly these were the ONLY two pictures I managed to capture on that walk. I was a mess. This gives me a reason to go back I suppose!
I spent the bulk of this trip chasing museums with my little cousin. After spending three days ill, my cold dramatically cut in to my trip. So I needed to make the most of it! From the National Portrait Gallery to the Tate Museum and back again. I had covered every period, every art work and got lost in tales of moldy mummies past. I LOVED IT.
Then of course it was the little bits of London I loved most. From colourful mews, to the red buses and the first taste of summer. I mean the hay fever was ridiculous but the nights out were brilliant. We scream sang at Hiphop Karaoke, stumbled in to G-A-Y and took a turn down Borough Market for babes, drinks and more chats. And best of all, two of my most favourite people in the world got married! And I'm still reeling from all the love that filled the room.
This may have been a short trip, but I am so so excited to fall in love with that city all over again.
